Climbing Everest, reaching the poles, diving into the Mariana Trench: it has always been individualists who pushed the limits. For tuners, BMW's M cars were such an extreme region that few dared to enter, above all the uncompromising Z4 M Coupé, a pure driving machine. With the PROFILE concept car, AC Schnitzer showed that even this car had not yet reached its limit.
Classic engine tuning lifted the high-revving straight six to a durable 350 hp, with a free-breathing airbox and a newly tuned control unit for the engine management. A revised 3.91:1 final drive sharpened acceleration, while AC Schnitzer Short Shift made every gear change precise. The left and right sports exhaust with trapezoid tailpipes added a rich baritone, as if the driver were playing an instrument.
A newly developed brake system with eight-piston fixed calipers and drilled, ventilated 374 x 36 mm front discs delivered strong stopping power. The suspension with racing genes was tuned on the Nürburgring Nordschleife and on public roads, joined by an aluminium Racing strut brace that kept the front end in check. Lightweight forged Type V wheels from the AC Schnitzer collection measured 9.0J x 20 at the front and 10.0J x 20 at the rear.
The white and orange colour scheme brought out the lines of the body kit: a front apron with hinted cup wings, wider front wings and gilled flanks like those of the legendary BMW 507, sculpted side skirts and a rear apron with carbon diffuser, topped by a rear spoiler and a roof wing. Inside, leather racing bucket seats with AC Schnitzer lettering and orange carbon trim were made especially for the car, joined by aluminium pedals, footrest, handbrake grip and iDrive controller cover.
