Normally the tuning day focuses on one vehicle class. This time it was all AC Schnitzer: nine vehicles, including two BMW motorcycles, all on Continental SportContact 7 tyres, driven by editors, readers and rally driver Niki Schelle on the handling course near Hannover.
On track: the M3 Touring that had just set the record as the fastest estate on the Sachsenring, an early version of the new M2, the XM with 23 inch wheels and aero parts, the Z4 M40i with coilover suspension and 21 inch AC3 wheels, a 370 hp M340d xDrive Touring, a 420 hp M240i, a 265 hp MINI JCW Cabrio and a BMW R nineT Pure.
The magazine's verdict on the day: a fast, sharp and fun BMW family, and proof of how wide the AC Schnitzer programme reaches, from MINI to motorcycle.
“Viel Spaß bei der schnellsten BMW-Familie Deutschlands.”
