The first attempt in April 2025 ended at 1:30.60. Quick, but not quick enough: on slightly too narrow tyres, the rear stepped out in the two fastest corners. Auto Bild sportscars covered that run in issue 6/2025.
For the second attempt the team changed exactly what had held the car back. The rear axle got a KW V4 Clubsport race suspension with external reservoirs, and the car moved to Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS tyres in 295/30 R 20 on AC4 forged wheels. Under the same AC-M 2560 plate sat a brand-new M2 LCI in Fire Red, with 560 hp, the four-pipe sport exhaust and the full aero kit: front splitter, winglets, side skirts, diffuser and rear wing with Gurney flap.
The result: 1:29.79 minutes. That puts the M2 by AC Schnitzer ahead of the previous best M2 and in the top 30 of more than 800 cars on the magazine's Sachsenring list.
“Das Paket aus feinem Powerplus, Zauberfahrwerk und klebrigen Gummis funktioniert einfach sensationell!”
Guido Naumann, Auto Bild sportscars 11/2025
