M2 and M3 Touring by AC Schnitzer at Hockenheim

sport auto took both cars to the Hockenheimring GP circuit. The verdict: sharper, faster and still usable every day.

The M2 runs as ACS2 Sport with 560 instead of 480 hp, a KW V4 Clubsport suspension that can be adjusted in the engine bay, a rear wing with up to 80 kg of downforce at 200 km/h and a matching front splitter. On Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R it lapped the GP circuit in 1:50.1 minutes, on the standard Continental SportContact 7 in 1:54.0.

The M3 Competition Touring runs as ACS3 Sport with 610 instead of 530 hp and 750 Nm, a suspension tuned by AC Schnitzer, roof spoiler, front splitter and side skirts. Even with a fuel mix-up that held back full power, it lapped in 1:51.4 on Cup 2 R, around three seconds faster than the standard car in the magazine's earlier test.

According to sport auto the upgrades sharpen both cars without overdoing the BMW character. With softer damper settings, both stay comfortable enough for everyday driving.
