In its first drive of the standard M2, Option Auto praised the car's maturity but missed character. The AC Schnitzer version answers with 100 hp and 100 Nm more, 560 hp in total, and a stainless steel sport silencer with flaps and four 110 mm carbon tailpipes.
Underneath, KW coilovers lower the car by up to 35 mm, 20 inch AC4 forged wheels cut unsprung mass by around 30 percent and wheel spacers widen the track. The suspension was set up on the Nordschleife. Downforce comes from a carbon rear wing on aluminium uprights and a front splitter.
Even on snow, the tester found the car flatter through corners, more communicative through the seat and steering wheel, and more fun to drive. With the upgrade the M2 reaches 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and 200 km/h in 11.6 seconds, according to the magazine.
“Au volant, cette version AC Schnitzer paraît plus légère que la M2 de série.”
